The Opportunity:

Culture Biosciences is looking for a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of project management within the R&D organization. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and finance teams to deliver business critical R&D projects to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute project plans, including scope, goals, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Hands-on coordination of all activities related to NPI including managing clear hand-offs between R&D and Manufacturing/Operations.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and issues - develop and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed.
  • Evaluate and optimize Culture Biosciences R&D project management processes.
  • Own the product development stage gate process, schedule gate reviews with stakeholders, and communicate decisions.
  • Work with the discipline leads on resource estimation/allocation and drive efficiency through proper planning/scheduling/prioritization of activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, risk assessments, and recommendations.

About you:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in R&D project management, including at least 2 years of experience in a senior project management role
  • Experience in biotech, medical device, or aerospace industries
  • Strong leadership and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience developing and managing project budgets and resources
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Bioprocessing and/or lab automation experience will be valuable

Location & Schedule:

  • This is a hybrid position. We’re looking for someone based in the greater San Francisco Bay Area who is able to work in person at our sites in South San Francisco 2-4 days per week to support business needs.

Base Salary Range:

Culture Biosciences's compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, and great benefits. Our expected salary range for this role is $160,000 to $195,000. We are hiring for multiple levels and backgrounds so final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.
