Position: Lab Sanitization and Inventory Technician

Below is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience, education, skillset, and other relevant qualifications. This range is for the North Carolina location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas.

Anticipated Compensation: $20/hr

The Opportunity:

Ohalo Genetics is seeking a highly motivated Lab Sanitization and Inventory Technician to work with us. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, enthusiastic about hands-on work, and responsible.This role ensures that the lab environment is up to date with health and safety standards, enabling smooth and safe operations. Prior experience is a plus, but is not required. The Lab Sanitization and Inventory Technician will assist in various duties to ensure the overall safety and success of the facility.

Responsibilities:

Sanitization and cleaning

• Perform routine cleaning of lab environment, equipment and instruments
• Use an autoclave for sanitization and safe disposal
• Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste
• Properly sanitize and store reusable lab equipment
• Schedule quarterly deep cleaning tasks

Organization

• Maintain a detailed and updated inventory list of all lab consumables, cleaning supplies and other items
• Regularly restock items in all lab areas in an organized manner
• Order lab consumables and other items in a timely manner with detailed purchasing records
• Assist in lab environment organization to ensure safety and efficiency

General

• Ensures the safe keeping of proprietary varieties and confidential information.
• Follow company policies and practices while representing Ohalo in an ethical and professional manner in all interactions with employees and external parties.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Lab Leadership Team

Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience in lab maintenance, cleaning, and procedures is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Highly detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Excellent record-keeping abilities.
• Self-motivated and proactive in handling routine tasks.
• Capable of accurately following verbal and written instructions.
• Skilled in asking clarifying questions.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple departments.
• Strong initiative and delegation skills.
• High self-confidence and strong communication skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must prioritize safety at all times.
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and fostering a collaborative environment.
