Research Associate II to Senior RA, Animal Cell Lines

Triplebar is driving a revolution in synthetic biology by opening the key bottlenecks preventing the acceleration of discovering, developing and commercializing products that enable humans to thrive sustainably in a resource-limited world. As part of this mission we are establishing a catalog of animal cell lines to drive success in the cultivated meat industry.

As a Research Associate, you will use your experience in cell culture and aseptic technique to assist the team isolating and expanding large numbers of primary cell lines. The team will rely on your careful planning and attention to detail to help identify ideal media conditions for each cell type and to ensure that cell maintenance, expansion and banking is done on schedule. Your ability to follow and improve upon SOPs and to meticulously document your work will help ensure the products the team develops meet cGMP and FDA standards. Through this role, you will learn/execute complex tasks in cell culture, genetic analysis, and molecular biology/biochemical assays to characterize cell phenotypes, report data to product teams and develop competencies in Triplebar's microfluidic platforms.

About the role

  • Assist in the maintenance and passaging of all derived animal cell lines
  • Maintain media and consumable ordering to ensure no gaps in cell growth/propagation occur
  • Identify, communicate and assist in troubleshooting when technical issues arise
  • Support the animal cell like team in generating and improving SOPs to execute complex tasks in cell culture, genetic analysis, molecular biology assays, and biochemical assays to characterize cell line phenotypes and report data
  • Conduct experiments in collaboration with the ACL team to establish growth parameters for cell lines on TBBs systems
  • Analyze and present data to project teams in support of delivering project timelines
  • Identify challenges and suggest solutions to improve cell line operations and capabilities
  • Assist with lab maintenance and daily workflow

About you

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, ideally in an industrial environment
  • Bachelor's or Master's in related scientific field
  • Experience working with adherent and suspension cell culture
  • Comfortable with working independently and working closely with scientists in the lab
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment
  • Have meticulous planning and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
